Q. What materials are used in your products, and are they safe?

A. Our primary products are American-made glass, came lead, 60/40 and 50/50 solder. Some items will also have a chemical
patina applied to the lead and solder. As with all true stained glass, our framed sayings and suncatchers contain lead. Please keep
out of reach of children, and wash hands after handling. Our jewelry products and fused glass items do NOT contain lead.
All jewelry findings are sterling, silver plate, 18k gold plate, or surgical steel and are perfectly safe.
Q. How do I order?
A. Simply click on the "buy now" buttons by the items you wish to order. We accept credit card payment through PayPal.
If you prefer to pay by mail using a money order, bank check, or personal check, please enclose our order
form. Our address is on the form. You may fill out the form on your computer and then print it, or you may print first and then
fill it out by hand.
Q. Do you publish a catalog?
A. No, we do not publish a paper catalog because it would most likely be obsolete within days of its printing. Please use
the web site as your catalog to see our most current inventory.
Q. How long will it take for my items to arrive?
A. With the exception of custom orders, your items will leave our studio within 24 to 48 hours of receiving your order.
If there will be a delay, you will be contacted. Once your order leaves our studio, we really can't guarantee a specific delivery
time. However, we use the U.S. Postal Service for 99% of our shipping needs, and the average delivery time is 2 to 7 days.
Those orders requiring FedEx can expect a similar delivery time frame. If you require expedited shipping,
please contact us for additional costs and to work out the
delivery details. But please keep in mind that we don't work for the post office, UPS, or FedEx. Once your item is handed over to
the shipper, we have no control over how fast it gets to you or in what condition. If you absolutely, positively must have the items
very quickly and you cannot risk late arrival, expedited shipping is your only option. Although this will incur an additional charge,
delivery is guaranteed by the various carriers. If they fail, they will refund the extra shipping charges, but they will not refund the
price of your items. Your best insurance is to order well in advance of the date you need the items.
Q. What is your policy on creating custom items?
A. We are happy to create custom frames with your favorite sayings or Bible verses. The King James version of the Bible
is public domain, and as such, we may legally use that translation. Please do not ask us to frame copyrighted poems or sayings unless you
can provide us with a waiver granting us the right to use them. We also can custom frame wedding invitations, birth announcements,
retirement celebration announcements, mass cards, and other keepsake documents. Custom work is to be prepaid by check or via custom link
to the shopping cart which will be provided after a design and price have been agreed upon. There are no refunds for custom work. We do
not offer custom jewelry designs.
Q. How do I return an item?
A. Contact us by email or phone and let us know you would like to return your order. Returns are accepted within 14 days
of receipt. The item must be in perfect condition. You must wrap the item(s) very carefully using the packing materials that arrived
with your order. We strongly recommend insurance. As soon as we receive your package, your purchase price will be refunded to you using
the same payment method used to purchase the item. We cannot refund postage costs. Special orders and custom orders cannot be returned.
Q. My item arrived broken. What do I do next?
A. Broken items are a rare occurrence, and we pack very carefully to avoid any damage. However, if breakage should occur,
check the item's envelope or box for an insurance tag. You must take the item, all the packing materials, and your proof of price paid
(either our enclosed invoice or your credit card statement) to your local post office. Do NOT return the item to Glassy Lady
as this will void the insurance. Claims under $50 are inspected and paid on the spot by the U.S. Postal Service. This is the quickest
and easiest way to obtain your refund. If the package does not have an insurance sticker, contact
us immediately and let us know about the problem. You will be required to return the broken item before a replacement can be sent.
All FedEx shipments under $100 are automatically insured. Take the broken item and all packaging to your local FedEx to place the claim.
Q. It's been two weeks, and I still haven't received my order. Can you send another?
A. We will be happy to send an immediate replacement. However, you must agree to a second charge to your credit card.
When the original order does eventually arrive (and they always do), return the duplicate to us. As soon as we receive it, we
will issue a refund for the amount of the item.
Q. Do you do custom window work?
A. Glassy Lady's specialty is small gift items in stained glass and warm glass. At this time, we do not take on large
projects. The shipping costs are prohibitive, and it makes better sense for you to look for a local artisan who can work with you face to
face and take appropriate measurements.
Q. Do you personally make all the items you sell?
A. I make 99% of all the items you see on the GlassyLady site. Obviously, genuine Swarovski crystals are made in Austria,
but items such as our crystal suncatchers or bookmarks (which use velvet ribbon made in Switzerland) are assembled by me in my studio in Nebraska,
USA. Any items not made in the USA are not represented as such. At this time, all glass used in my framed sayings and warm glass items
is manufactured in the USA as is the lead and solder used in traditional stained glass items. If at any time imported glass such as French
or German New Antique is used, that fact will be included in the item's description.
Q. I'd like to get into the stained glass business. Can you share your experience with me and tell me what I need to do to get
started?
A. We recommend contacting a local stained glass shop and taking some classes.
Q. I'd like to try and make some of the items you sell. Can you tell me how you make your things?
A. We recommend contacting a local stained glass shop and taking some classes.
Q. Our non-profit organization regularly solicits donations from online artisans. May we count on Glassy Lady for a donation?"
A. As you may expect, we receive requests like this on a very regular basis. Due to the fact that we are often overwhelmed
by the number of people asking for freebies, we have had to adopt a position of supporting local charities only, and we do so at our own choosing
(not by being asked). The easiest solution for the online requests is to "just say no" to everyone.
